The royal details
A closer look
GFP Wild Type axolotls combine the natural olive, brown, gray, and black appearance of a wild type axolotl with the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) trait. Under normal lighting they look like naturally colored wild types; under suitable blue or UV lighting the GFP trait can produce a bright fluorescent green glow.
Is this the “green axolotl” people search for?
Sometimes. Axolotls are not naturally neon green under ordinary light, but GFP axolotls can fluoresce green under the right lighting. If you are looking for a green-glowing axolotl, GFP wild type is one of the closest matches.

GFP Wild Type care
Care is the same as for other axolotls: a fully cycled aquarium, cool stable water, gentle filtration, suitable hides, appropriate food, and regular water testing.
